Operate Basic Lighting
Full Teaching program

We are so excited to announce that the next big resource we are working on is a FULL teaching and learning program for the Operate Basic Lighting CUA framework UOC and HSC Lighting syllabus.

And by FULL, we mean FULL!

The resource is created with both the novice and expert in mind.  We have broken down the syllabus and framework content into 16 seperate lessons that come fully resourced with learning materials. From stunningly designed PowerPoint presentations with scripts for the teacher and supporting student worksheets, to comprehension and word activities, research questions, fun games, practical activities and literacy and numeracy exercises.

The content is flexible too. For example, if you are teaching about the types of lighting fixtures, we provide you with examples and content on each of the different types, but if you want to show the fixtures in a hands on display because you happen to have them accessible in your teaching space, you can use the supporting materials in the same way, plus your students get to see them and have study notes to take away.

The Program Scope and Sequence document will have everything you need with lesson information, registration areas and reflections. All you need to add is your School name, school logo, teaching period and your own name.

Assessment - built into the program is plenty of opportunity to informal assessment of your student's progress, with enough time left in the schedule for any mandated regional assessment packages.

ALL individual lessons will be available of individual purchase for those teachers that already have a planned program and just need a little extra on some aspects of the syllabus.

Individual lessons will include: Types of fixtures; Lighting personnel; Documents for lighting; Rigging; Hard patching; DMX; Safety for lighting; Atmospherics; Lighting consoles; Cues for lighting; The lighting operation process; Trouble shooting; Lighting theory; Lighting for different environment and contexts; HSC practice (Multi-choice and short answer); HSC practice (long response).
