Description

This is a fun and interactive way of getting to teach, learn and remember the areas of a theatre stage and some of the typical stage elements. It’s a hands-on task that will engage your students and at the end, they get a fully labelled, physical object that they can use for study, and even to take them further as they begin to explore their own stage design ideas.

 

This PDF product includes a cover page, teachers' instructions, a graphical flow chart of how to construct your stage, Answer sheets for the 36 labelling areas and all of the templates you will need.

 

As well as the stage, there are movable element including: Legs, Boarder, Teaser, Tormentors, Revolve, Small Rostra, Large Rostra, Small Truck, Large Truck, Flat, Book Flat and 2 Actors.

What you need to provide or have your students provide:

  • Print out of the template pages (you may add any image you like to the “background” page before printing, or the students may draw their own)
  • Thin cardboard (cereal box thickness) – could be actual cereal boxes students bring from home or your own card stock (enough for the first 5 sheets – the ‘Masking’ and ‘Backdrop’ pages should not have cardboard)
  • Glue, Pen or pencil to label the parts, scissors or a metal rule and craft knife
  • Bamboo skewers and sellotape
